Description
The fifth compilation of my grandfathers old photographs of the Pacific theater. If you ask him about them, he says "That was almost 70 years ago, I don't remember much." I'm sure he really knows lots of stories, but these pictures are pretty obscure.
He was all over the pacific war; Australia, New Guinea, Philippines, Guadalcanal, Layte Gulf, and numerous other tiny unknown islands.
So what you see is what you get pretty much. B-24 Bomber nose art, "native huts", pictures of the jungle cliff sides that were apparently had hidden "jap caves" in them somewhere, tents, guys hanging out reading a magazine besides a jeep, posing with captured Japanese flags, and the middle one is a Japanese "Betty" bomber with surrender markings coming in to sign official end hostility documents.
Anyways for a good view download the image so you can see the photos way better. Enjoy! Comments welcome as always. And a preemptive "Thanks" to all those who fave.

So the unusual plane in the middle is a Betty bomber! I wondered what it was. Great collection as always!!
