Alright this is the 12th compilation of my grandfathers old photographs of the Pacific theater. If you ask him about them, he says "That was almost 70 years ago, I don't remember much." I'm sure he really knows lots of stories, but these pictures are pretty obscure.
He was all over the pacific war; Australia, New Guinea, Philippines, Guadalcanal, Layte Gulf, and numerous other tiny unknown islands.
So what you see it what you get pretty much. P-38 planes, the airstrip, plane wreckage, the squadron sign, nose art, some OSA entertainers who were stars at the time (I do not know who), and some surrendering Japanese at the bottom, one with a 'Betty' bomber.
